May 2019

Well 2019 so far has been a very exciting for us, from Doha in Qatar, to Scotland and shows back in England.

Sadly we played The Citadel in St Helens for the last time in Jan as it closes it doors in June due to finances. This was always a great venue to start the year off and we are very sad not to be playing there again. It has hosted many great shows and many top entertainers have performed there over the years. The memories of the shows we did there will stay with us.

Well festival season has started and already we have played two Fake Festivals in Stoke and Gloucester to great audiences and we look forward to many more coming up this year. More shows will be coming in and also aiming for more theatre shows between Autumn and next Spring.

More details of things currently planned to be announced soon

All the best, Paul x

December 2018

I would like to take this opportunity on behalf of myself and all of Aladdinsane to wish you all a very Happy Christmas and a great 2019.

We also want to say thanks to everyone at our shows over this past year for the wonderful support given to us. It has been a great year for us and we are very grateful for the lovely comments we have received.

2019 promises some new venues, festivals and more widespread locations, with some areas of the Country that we have not covered before. Many more shows will be added in the next couple of months for 2019.

Still more new material and changes ahead for 2019.

Best wishes to you all and looking forward to seeing you in 2019.

July 2018

Firstly we want to give a big thankyou to everybody who has supported us throughout this year. It has certainly been a roller coaster ride with many very memorable shows so far.

As many of you know we have been very busy with the festivals throughout this summer and fortunate to be playing in many new areas as well as covering areas where we are already well established. We are very honoured and thankful to be part of the Fake festival circuit where we are anywhere from the South of England to the North of Scotland.

Also we very grateful to be the only tribute endorsed by Bowienetters, where we have just played our 6th annual show where proceeds go to the Terrence Higgins trust. Lovely to meet Mark Shaw and Peter Capaldi who were also there this year.

Well there are plenty more shows coming up and still more festivals throughout this incredible hot summer. Looking forward to Wickham Fakefest in the NorthEast this coming Saturday.

There will be more updates in the gallery section coming up and also live video footage to follow,. Thankyou to you all and look forward to seeing some of you at the next shows.

Dec 2017

Well I cannot believe we at this time of year again. Maybe it is all down to having some amazing shows this year and they say time flies when you’re having fun.

This year we have played many fantastic festivals throughout the summer and also some of our fav venues again.

We are really looking forward to 2018 and already promises some great shows for us. We really will be pushing to get some shows in some of the areas we have not had the chance to do over the past few years.

I personally will be aiming for Liverpool as we keep being asked so hopefully we will hit the right venue there for us.

Off course we have the Citadel at St Helens which is a great venue and always packed out for us, but later in the year hoping to leap further into Merseyside and other new areas around the Country.

On behalf of all the band I would like to thank everyone of you for the fantastic support you have all given us and we are wishing you all a very Merry Christmas, good health and best wishes for the New Year

August 2017

So much has happened in the past few months.

Firstly we have been privileged to be welcomed to many of the best top tribute festivals in the UK with more on the way.

Recently we have played a few of the great Fakefests, Tynemouth, Perth (Scotland), Trowbridge, Harrogate, with Keynsham coming up on Aug 5th and the Big Fake fest coming up on Sep 1st. All of these have brought an amazing response for us. Also recently we played Rockprest in Preston and the biggest turnout at Festwich last week, with an estimated 8000 as we stepped on stage just after the rain stopped. WV1 in Wolverhampton and Cambridge Rock festival are also coming up.

We have to say a big thankyou to everyone for the amazing response given to us at all the festivals and venues we have played so far this year. It really has been a wonderful experience at every show we have done so far this year.

Great to get a huge welcome to some new venues we have recently played like the Waterloo in Blackpool, Crazy Daisy in Sheffield and Penny Theatre in Canterbury.

I cannot believe where the time has gone having recently played our 5th annual show for Bowie netters in London being so pleased to be the only Bowie tribute band endorsed by Bowienet for which we feel totally honoured.

A trip to Guernsey for 4 shows coming up at the end of the month which we are looking forward to aswell.

There are many things in the pipe line yet ref more shows including theatres shows, promo material, recordings etc which I will let you all know as things progress.

Really looking forward to this week with the next three big shows coming up.

May 2017

Once again a return to the Cliffs Pavilion Maritime rooms in Southend was a great night for us, really mixing the set up with a few surprise numbers thrown in including a cover of “Round and Round” as a tribute to the late Chuck Berry. David recorded this in 1972 during the Ziggy sessions and ended up as the b-side to “Drive In Saturday”

Last week was all go for me playing a solo show at Tribfest in Bahrain in front of 3.5 thousand people. It had been 33 degrees during the day but had dropped a bit by the time I got on stage, which I was quite pleased about. This is the second time I have had the privilege of playing this festival and met some wonderful artists sharing the event with me. By the time I landed in Birmingham on the Saturday, I was then heading straight up to Tynemouth to headline the Fakefest with Aladdinsane later that night.

This is the second Fakefest we have done so far with more coming up this year around the Country. Again an audience in excess of 3000 who were fantastic from beginning to end. The audience gave us a fantastic response on every number.

Although we have quite a few shows lined up this year already, there are still more shows to be confirmed for later this year as well as booking for 2018.

Next stop is the Bowie Convention in Hull. We have had the privilege of headlining this event 3 times now and looking forward to seeing many familiar faces in the audience.

More news to follow later, Paul x

March 2017

We are pleased to say that there are many new locations around the Country to see Aladdinsane during 2017, with still mores shows on the way.

Legends Of Rock in Great Yarmouth had a great turnout for us. This is one we have done 4 times now and always look forward to returning to. With the introduction of more new songs added this year is proving to be a very exciting year ahead for us.

This year we are playing many more large festivals around the Country as we are playing at quite a few Fake fests aswell.

Many of you have been asking about seeing us in theatres again. This is hopefully going to be more possible for 2018.

Please keep an eye out on the gig page as this is expanding on a weekly basis

Jan 2017

Wishing everyone a very Happy New Year.

Since the sad news of David Bowie’s passing, I have noticed even more fans just wanting to be together at the theatres and festivals we have played.

We are honoured with all the incredible feedback we have received, especially over this last year . We had some amazing turnouts to many of the shows last year.

We always tend to keep quiet until the end of January, working on new material for the 2017 shows. So as no surprise to many, we make a welcome return to the Citadel in St Helens on Jan 28th and hope it is a sell out again.

This year we will be playing even more festivals throughout the Country and looking forward to putting on more theatre shows aswell. The gig page has been updated but please be aware that there will be more shows included for this year.

More new outfits and material is being prepared for this years shows and we are looking forward to be performing at some more new locations this year as well as returning to some of our favourite venues. We look forward to seeing you at our shows very soon,

Paul x

July 2016 Bits and pieces

So much has happened since I last posted here, so now it’s well overdue for a catch up.

I was asked to go to Bahrain in April to play a festival there as a solo act. This was a great experience for me not having been there before. The stage was huge with two massive video screens either side with an approx 3000 strong audience. It was great to meet all the other acts and spend some time getting to know them. Hopefully I will get the chance to go back again in the near future.

Reboot Fest – Workington

We always love travelling up to new locations and the Lake district was no exception. We were headlining the event and had a really great time there, despite it still being rather chilly on the night we took the stage. We really appreciated how many people were there waiting for us.

David Bowie convention, Derby

It is always an honour to be asked to headline this convention, so with a new bigger venue and a sell-out for avid Bowie fans, this surely was a great night for us all. I believe it will take place in Hull next year, so will keep you informed.

Cliffs Pavilion, Southend, Essex – New Milton Hall, Hampshire – Boltfest, Lancashire

A very memorable and busy weekend with 3 shows. The Maritime rooms at the Cliffs Pavilion is always a good night for us and a great audience.

We played the Memorial hall in New Milton for the first time and certainly not disappointed at all, so looking forward to returning back there in 2017.

Boltfest was another headliner event for us. We could not have asked for more with thousands really getting behind us enjoying some of David Bowie’s best known songs.

Bowienet party, Surya, London

I am so thankful that the Bowienetters have had us back once again to headline the event. Great performances by everyone and an honour to be endorsed by them. I believe that around £10’000 was raised for the cancer charity. Looking forward to this event again in 2017. Sadly and certainly missed was the personal message from David that he sent for this event for us all every year.

Kings Lynn festival

Another fantastic festival for us, this time as the support for the Wonder Stuff. Lovely to chat with Miles Hunt after the show when the 5000 wonderful audience gradually dispersed.

Blyth theatre, Northumberland.

It was a pleasure to be asked back to play this lovely theatre. I always remember the fantastic light shows they put on for their acts there. It was a long drive back though straight after the show but we were feeling quite exhilarated from the vibe there.

Dartford festival

We love playing these large festivals and again Dartford was yet another great event for us. Toyah was there performing aswell, so could not miss the chance for a quick chat with her before she left which was really nice. This show also brought back Mark Hatton for a one off performance, which he thoroughly enjoyed. Again the massive support from thousands really showed there.

I have also undertaken a few more solo shows this year, which I really enjoy doing more so these days. Plus as the band we have many more shows to look forward to in 2016 including a couple more large festivals, Festwich in Manchester and the Big Fake festival in Newark.

I am so grateful for some of the video footage we have received from recent shows. Some of it will now be uploaded onto the website. Many thanks to everyone who has been at our shows recently and given us some amazing feedback. We are very grateful for all the lovely comments we each receive.

Finally there will be more new material added for our shows in 2017. The problem being is with David’s vast repertoire of material means we could not possibly incorporate all the material we now have into one show, so please understand if we miss out someone’s favourite track. Of course with many shows the hit singles are a must, but we do like to treat the ardent fans to some classic album tracks aswell when we get the chance.

March 2016 Bits and pieces

There was no chance that we were going to put on any shows in January out of respect, we were not jumping on the band wagon and taking advantage of the sad loss of David. I personally would not have been capable of performing those songs so shortly after David’s passing, as you all know I have followed David since I was a young boy.

On the 8th January I was invited to Berlin to perform at Hansa studios where David recorded some of his Heroes album amongst other bits. It was to coincide with David’s birthday and the release of Blackstar. I met some lovely people there including Eduard Meyer who was the sound engineer at the time David recorded there. I also did an acoustic performance the next day at Café Nueus Ufer, a place just below where David lived which David, Iggy and Tony Visconti  frequented. This place has since become a shrine for David. There are plans for me to return there at the end of October this year, I will keep you all informed.

A couple of  shows we have recently played had a fantastic turnout, firstly The Yellow Arch Studios in Sheffield and then the Citadel in St Helens, where the audience of over 300 almost blew the roof off.

Last weekend we played a couple of nights, for the first time, in Guernsey at the Doghouse which were really well attended. The audiences on both nights were great. We have just been informed that we have been asked to return for the 2 nights to the Doghouse in August 2017 and this time also to play a 3rd show on the balcony at the Cobo Hotel. The Cobo one sounds amazing as apparently the road is closed off and the audience numbers thousands. WOW!!

We have been very fortunate to have been invited to play some great festival shows during 2016, we will even be  headlining a couple of them. Please check our gig page regularly for details of all confirmed gigs. On confirmation there will be notification of yet more shows currently under discussion. I bid you all a fond adieu!
